Datatrans is a leading Swiss Payment Service Provider that supports a wide range of payment methods, including card payments, digital wallets, and other alternative payment methods. This plugin operates in redirect mode, directing customers to the Datatrans Payment Page, which provides access to all payment methods supported by the configured merchant through a single integration. The benefits include fast, secure, and simple payments, which can ultimately lead to higher turnover.

The extension connects Odoo shop users to a payment hub with over 40 linked payment methods. It uses REST APIs to facilitate this connection, helping to reduce cart abandonment by ensuring that customers can access their preferred payment methods. Additionally, it links users to various payment service provider APIs, thereby lowering payment routing costs.

The Datatrans payment provider plugin acts as a connector between the Odoo webshop and the Datatrans payment service. Once the backend configurations are set, you can proceed to the shop’s checkout process, where the Datatrans provider will appear among the payment methods. Select any of the Datatrans payment options, and you will be redirected to the Datatrans payment page. Enter your card details, and based on the outcome—success, cancellation, or error—you will be redirected back to the Odoo webshop. This integration also supports invoice payments.

Please note that before integrating the Datatrans payment provider plugin, ensure you have access to the Datatrans web administration tool—the interface which is used to verify and process transactions. You will need the Merchant ID and Signature from this tool for configuring the Odoo backend.

The Datatrans backend provides a configuration interface where you can define the payment methods available to users. To ensure the plugin works smoothly, several backend configurations are required. The initial step involves setting up the Datatrans provider configuration by providing the Merchant ID and Signature from your Datatrans web administration tool. Once this configuration is complete, the Datatrans payment provider will be available by default.

Activate any of the payment methods and continue shopping. The payment provider will appear on the shop’s payment page. Select the Datatrans payment option, complete the payment on the Datatrans payment page, and you will be redirected back to the Odoo webshop.
